KIM Gil-hu

KIM Gil-hu was born in Busan, Korea, in 1961. He graduated from College of Fine Arts and Graduate school at Keimyung University in 1988 and 1996, consecutively. In 2005, KIM received SAC 2005 Young Artist Award and held a solo exhibition at Seoul Arts Center (Seoul) in the same year. In 2014, he held a large-scale exhibition at Whitebox Art Center (Beijing). He held solo exhibitions at both domestic and international institutions such as Pohang Museum of Steel Art (Pohang, Korea), Songzhuang Contemporary Art Archive (Beijing), Art Space EMU (Seoul), etc. He also participated in group exhibitions at Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul), Daegu Art Museum (Daegu, Korea), Ulsan Culture & Arts Center (Ulsan, Korea), Bongsan Cultural Center (Daegu, Korea), Soka Art Center (Beijing), Jeonju Culture & Art Center (Jeonju, Korea), Woobong Art Museum (Daegu, Korea), etc. In 2021, he received the 11th Korean Art Critics Association Artist Award. His works are part of public collections such as National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Art Bank (Gwacheon, Korea), and Seoul Museum (Seoul).
