YIM Jahyuk
Biography
YIM Jahyuk was born in Seoul, in 1976. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University (SNU) and its graduate school, majoring in painting. He then studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in the United States of America.
Yim has held 6 solo exhibitions at the Geumsan Galley, Brain Factory, Kumho Museum, Gallery Shilla and Johyun Gallery. He also participated in a lot of temporary exhibitions at home and abroad including “Opichina Asia(Bologna Museum of Modern Art)”, “Art Spectrum(Leeum Samsung Museum of Art)” and “Drawing Energy (Arko Art Center).”
He paints images of surroundings on canvas through day-to-day observation and imagination just like making a poem. Yim works on various aspects, from drawing on paper and painting on canvas to installing large-size drawing walls.
