LEE Jinjoo
Biography
LEE Jinju was born in Busan, in 1980. She graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Hong-ik University and its graduate school, majoring in the Oriental painting.
Lee’s works started from secret imagination about dream, experience and daily life. The paintings show isolation and hurt feelings, and the lingering negative emotions such as pain and sorrow.
Lee had her solo exhibition, “Dialogue over All Those Silent” at the Gallery Jung Mi So in 2008 and participated in many group exhibitions at the Gallery Hyundai(“Window”) ,Ilmin Museum of Art, the Sung-ok Art Museum, etc. In 2009, she won an excellence award from Jungang Fine Art Prize, and a participation prize from Songeun Fine Art Prize. Lee is currently a resident artist of Nanji Art Studio.
