Hakgojae Gallery presents , a solo exhibition of German-born artist Tim Eitel from September 2nd to October 23rd. This is the artist's first solo exhibition in Asia.

Tim Eitel has been acclaimed by international art world as a representative New Leipzig School painter along side with Neo Rauch, Anna Tessenow, and Christoph Ruckhaberle. He studied German, literature, and philosophy at the University of Stuttgart from 1993 to 1994. Eitel and studied painting at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig from 1997 to 2001; he was a Meisterschüler in the class of Professor Arno Rink from 2001 to 2003.

Tim Eitel is a specialist for paintings in which individual figures, colored planes and architectural structures fuse into units of mysterious yet streamlined elegance. In most cases, the figures do not show their faces. Through this, the artist creates a ubiquitous situation where figures can be either ‘me’ or others. His painting contains depression and emptiness of all humans in the modern society. Eitel uses traditional painting technique since he seeks no paintings behind the paintings.
